The CPL(H) Scholarship selection process can feel unforgiving and exhausting to the applicants. When the final round comes along, it gets even tougher and reveals almost everything the panel need to know to decide on a winner. All applicants did very well this year and the standards were extremely high making for some tough decision making at the end.
A week since the winner was announced, Luke tells us what it felt like to receive the news and what it means to him moving forward.
“I feel incredibly lucky and it hasn't quite sunk in yet” said Luke, when asked how it feels. “It's an amazing opportunity and a huge step towards my goal of becoming a professional pilot”. He adds that he “couldn't have managed it without the outstanding help of every instructor at helicentre”.
The CPL(H) Scholarship will fund the CPL(H) theory course, all his hour building between PPL(H) and the start of the CPL(H) course and then the CPL(H) flying course. The award is worth around £60,000.
Luke has already been making great progress in his exams with only 5 left to pass. Once they are finished, he can look forward to potentially getting out to our fair weather base in Florida to enjoy some incredible weather making for perfect conditions to hour build and gain experience.
Well done and good luck with the exams!
