Joe, has passed his CPL(H) Skills Test.
Joe was assessed by Captain Fred Cross of the CAA; this pass makes Joe our newest commercial pilot and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the team.
The skills test, which lasted for two hours, saw Joe tested on navigation, general handling and emergency procedures. Joe was instructed through his training by Captain Morgan Whiting, who was our first Flight Instructor Scholarship winner in 2013. Captain Whiting has been an instructor for our CPL(H) courses for the past 18 months.
Joe said: “Captain Whiting prepared me perfectly for my test, but to actually have someone as experienced as Captain Cross come in and assess me was amazing. I’ve come away with lots of hints and tips not only on how to become a Captain myself, but also on how to ensure I become a better pilot. I can’t thank Captain Cross and Captain Whiting enough for everything they’ve done. I’m looking forward to the future and heading to [Winter Haven in] Florida.”
Helicentre Aviation Chairman, Chris Line, expressed his pride at seeing Joe complete and pass his CPL(H). “I’m excited to have Joe join the Helicentre Aviation team; I think he’ll make a great addition,” Chris said.
Joe is now looking forward to going to Florida in order to build more hours of flight experience before beginning his FI(H) course.
We will continue to keep you updated about Joe’s exciting adventures in the Sunshine State!
